Associates of the Daughters of the Holy Spirit in the vice Province of Nigeria are committed catholic Christian. They are 27 in number, 2 candidates in formation. They choose to participate in our Charism by sharing in our spiritual attitudes; especially in rendering help to the poor ones in the society. They also participate in our mission and apostolate. Every Month the Associates meets in their different Zion for a time of formation and prayer with the sisters/community. Associates are to be shining example to the world through the fruit of the Holy Spirit, meekness, gentleness, love, patience, peace, faithfulness, joy, kindness and self-control, working in us. The spirit speaks in the heart of each One of the associate members recently wrote on what it means to share in the charism of the DHS, WHAT IT MEANS TO SHARE IN THE CHARISM AS A DHS ASSOCIATES Sharing in the charism of the Daughter of the Holy Spirit as an associate means emulating and living a life centered on assisting the poor and having special devotions to the Holy Spirit and our Lady. With the help of the Holy Spirit, we pray, share, love and work together to influence our environment, most especially women, the less privileged, the sick, the youth and the children. We value devotion to our Triune God under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. By the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, we cultivate good virtues, spiritual and moral values, and recognize the dignity of every persons regardless of statute, symbol, color, or creed. We seek to treat all equally, assist when and where required, whether materially, spiritually or emotionally and thus make the world a better place for all. Our common emblem, as associates, consists of a cross with a dove reminding us of the gift of the Holy Spirit promised by Jesus and given to the apostles at Pentecost and to each one of us personally at Baptism.
