Our Mission

The promotion of wholistic human Development for the challenged Children as in drawing the general public’s attention to the plight of children with special needs; and the activities of the Centre via teaching, counseling, career development and integration into community life.

 

Our Vision

A community where respect for and promotion of human dignity of challenged Children are held sacrosanct; such that parents and guardians of children with special needs enlist them for education/training appropriate for their needs. In a way that challenged Children are fully alive and active, set free from diseases and untimely death thus be given hope of a better tomorrow in a just, safe and free environment.

 

Our Aims Are

a)       To promote the Christian principle of love of God being expressed in the love for children with special needs

b)       To make the Centre a ‘home’ for the education, formation and empowerment of the children with special needs

c)       To enable the children to accept themselves in their situation so as to discover and realize their full potentials

d)       To make a preferential option for the poor and marginalized as well as identify unjust structures and take corrective actions in relation to the Children with special needs

e)       To conscientize the stakeholders (parents, guardians, government, men and women of goodwill) towards a sustainable and meaningful development for the Children with special needs

f)        To co-operate with international agencies; government and NGOS for integral development of the Children with special needs

g)       To promote human rights as entrenched in the UN charter and Banjul Declaration on Human Rights in relation to the Children with special needs.

  • Children with auditory disorders (Hearing Impaired)
  • Children with mental retardation/learning disabilities (Intellectually Impaired)
  • Children with physical and health impairments (Physically Impaired)
  • Their parents, families and guardians
  • The general public for a better understanding of challenged persons
