Preparation for final vows: August 2014

The programme which took place at Rene Burel Retreat  and conference centre started on 1stAugust 2014 with the arrival/orientation of the twelve sisters preparing for their final vows (Srs. Alice Orji, Anthonia Ogunyomi, Esther Olusi, Esther Kolawole, Felicia Ademola, Hannah Okoliko, Janet Audu, Justina Akubo, Rosemary Okere, Rosemary Etim, Stella Oluwafemi, and Theresa Onu (You may follow this link to view the picture of these twelve sisters

). It was a whole month programme which was animated by Sr. Jeannine Legere and along the line assisted by Srs. Anthonia Falope, Priscilla Madumere, Cynthia Azughara, Agnes Obembe and two other formators who came for observation (Srs. Abiola Adigboluja and Nnamezie Anastasia). Sr. Marykate and her crew took care of the meals and accommodation.

Some of the topics treated were following Jesus Christ all my life in consecrated celibacy, poverty and obedience, our mission in the church, The Rule of Taden, Spirituality of the congregation,, Charism, entrusting ourselves to Mary, bound to those whom God has given us as companions, peace and reconciliation, the hidden source, e.t.c. There were free days on Sundays and weekly review/ re-reading on Saturdays.

It was an atmosphere of quietness, restfulness, reflection, silence and prayer which helped the sisters to look at what they have lived, the vows they are about to finally profess and to leave the future in God’s hand in total surrender, childlike trust and love.

It was really faith strengthening, hope reassuring and full of blessings. ‘The twelve’ expressed their gratitude saying they feel better prepared to make their final vows as Daughters of the Holy Spirit.

The programme came to an end with an eight day Retreat on 31st August 2014
