Don Leuduger’s community, St. Francis Sec. School Community…
Lagos Region

Don Leuduger Community, Lagos.

107 Liasu Road,

Idimu, Alimosho LGA,

P.O.Box 91, Oshodi, Lagos.

DATE ESTABLISHED:  1st of September, 2013.  It was opened at the request of the Jesuit brothers and fathers who invited us to collaborate with them in the education of the young according to Jesuit tradition.

MISSION / APOSTOLATE

We are involved in the education of both the day and boarding students.  We participate in the Jesuit mission in the following ways:  teaching, nursing, counseling, administration, catering and boarding.

SIGNIFICANT EVENTS

We participated in the school inter-house sport where we identified ourselves with others.  We also took active part in the post examination’s program where we accompanied some students to the orphanage homes.  We celebrated the school cultural day in a splendid way.  On that day, we removed our religious habit to wear our traditional attires.  The richness of our various cultures could not be over emphasized.  We joined other staff for the Christmas picnic and acrobatic exercises.

CHALLENGES

The school takes all of our time because it has both day and boarding students.  So, the sisters are involved in running of the hostel as well as teaching, we struggle to learn the Jesuit tradition as we collaborate with them.

CHARISM

Since the inception of the community, we have been sharing our charism through teaching, nursing, counseling and working with the following groups:  choir, alter servants, society of St. Vincent the Paul.  In the nearest future, we propose to share our charism with the Laity meeting, C.W.O and the sick.
